18 Palestinian children released hours after hours of detention by Israeli police in Al-Aqsa

JERUSALEM, Sunday, April 15, 2022 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces released 18 Palestinian children today after they were detained for a couple of hours during the Israeli raid into Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem early today morning.

The 18 children, all under the age of 14, were released at the Israeli military checkpoint Qalandia at Jerusalem-Ramallah road.

More than 400 Palestinian worshipers were arrested by the Israeli occupation forces earlier today when heavily armed Israeli police officers stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound following the dawn prayer. More than 120 worshipers were also wounded by the attacking forces.

The wounded Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated bullets, tear gas, or beaten by the Israeli police who also fired a barrage of stun grenades.

Over the past weeks, tensions have risen across the West Bank as the Israeli occupation authorities carried out arrests and military raids in many areas, especially in the north of the territory.
