Israeli forces demolish Palestinian’s house near Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, December 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday demolished a Palestinian’s house in Qalandia village, northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Jerusalem, according to local sources.

They said that the occupying forces barged their way into the village and surrounded a two-story house belonging to Samer Hamdiyya before a bulldozer tore it down, reducing it to rubble.

The house was demolished purportedly for being located in Area C, which accounts for 60 percent of the occupied West Bank and is under full Israeli control as per the Oslo Accords.

The gun-toting soldiers unleashed barrages of tear gas canisters near the house, but without resulting in any casualties.

Hamdiyya had submitted a petition against the demolition order to the Israeli court, particularly that he had been living in it with his family for years, but to no avail.

According to the statistics of the Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission, the occupation authorities conducted 46 demolitions in November 2025, tearing down 76 structures, including 20 inhabited houses, two uninhabited houses, 30 agricultural structures, and 23 sources of livelihood.

The demolitions were distributed among governorates as follows: 30 structures demolished in Hebron governorate, 15 others in Jerusalem governorate, and 11 others in Bethlehem governorate.

The Commission added that the occupation authorities delivered 51 demolition orders against Palestinian property in the same month, with these orders distributed as follows: 21 orders in Bethlehem governorate, 14 orders in Hebron governorate, six orders in Nablus governorate, two orders in Tubas governorate, and another order in Ramallah governorate.
