RAMALLAH, December 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Presidential spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh said on Tuesday that the international community must put an end to the continuous Israeli colonial violations, which defy international legitimacy and international law, the latest of which is the announcement of the construction of 19 new colonies in the West Bank in a blatant violation of relevant UN resolutions.
He called upon the international community, especially the United States of America, to pressure the occupation authorities to force them to allow humanitarian aid, including prefabricated houses and tents, into the Gaza Strip to stop the escalation of the suffering of displaced citizens, in light of the difficult weather conditions the region is experiencing and the flooding of the already dilapidated tents.
Abu Rudeineh stressed the need to open the crossings, accelerate the entry of aid urgently, and remove the obstacles the occupation places on the UNRWA so that it can carry out its duties towards the Palestinian people, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and UN General Assembly resolutions.
He warned of the danger of the destruction occurring in Gaza, and the continuous assaults carried out by the occupation army against Palestinian cities, villages, and refugee camps, the demolition of homes in West Bank camps, and the displacement of their residents, in addition to the systematic terrorism carried out by colonizers, which includes killing citizens, burning property, and uprooting trees.
He emphasized that the situation has become more dangerous, complicated, and intertwined, which requires effective U.S. intervention so that any vision for achieving stability can see success according to President Donald Trump's plan for peace and stability.
Abu Rudeineh added that the Israeli policies that destroy any international efforts made to stop the violence and escalation require serious work to preserve international legitimacy and international law, which the occupation authorities insist on ignoring and defying the international desire aimed at establishing peace in accordance with international law, as expressed by the continuous periodic meetings of the UN Security Council.
He affirmed that the deepest meaning remains the Palestinian constants and the official legitimacy seeking to preserve Jerusalem and its holy sites, and the unity of the Palestinian land in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, foremost among them East Jerusalem.
