QALQILYA, December 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces distributed leaflets today to residents of Ras Tira village, south of Qalqilya, demanding they lower the volume of the call to prayer (adhan) at the village's two mosques.
Local sources said that residents were surprised when Israeli occupation forces stormed the eastern part of Ras Tira village, southeast of Qalqilya, and distributed leaflets demanding they lower the volume of the adhan at the village's two mosques, claiming it disturbed settlers in the "Alfei Menashe" colony built on their land.
Residents considered this move an attack on their freedom of worship and a continuation of the policy of harassment and violations against them, especially given the threats by occupation soldiers to detain mosque imams if the call to prayer is raised again.
The village of Ras Tira is located southeast of the city of Qalqilya. It has a population of about 700 people, and its land area is estimated at about 1000 dunams. It is classified as Area (C), and is surrounded by the apartheid wall from all sides.
