RAMALLAH, Thursday, October 14, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers uprooted more than 80 olive trees in the village of al-Mughayyer, north of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, and razed lands as well, today said Amin Abu Eliya, head of al-Mughayyer village council.

He told WAFA that the farmers were shocked to see yesterday that settlers destroyed and uprooted more than 80 olive trees in their lands located near the illegal Israeli settlement of Adi Ad.

He said the Israeli military government does not allow the landowners to have access to that land.

Abu Eliya added that the settlers, while heavily protected by the Israeli forces, assaulted a farmer, causing him injuries and bruises.

He noted that the settlers yesterday also razed more than 60 dunums of the village lands, and that they previously uprooted about 500 olive trees.

The attack on the olive trees and land comes amidst the very popular olive harvest season in the occupied territories.
