Israeli forces maintain siege on Nablus-area village, close all access roads

NABLUS, October 18, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces continued their siege of the village of Madama, south of Nablus, on Sunday, closing all roads leading to and from the village.

Madama village council head Rami Nassar said the village's entrances have been closed for about a week. Israeli forces had previously blocked the northern entrance, the eastern road connecting Madama with Burin, and the western road leading to Asira al-Qibliya.

He stressed that all main and secondary roads leading to the village were now completely closed, leaving residents with no way in or out. The restrictions have caused severe hardship, particularly for employees, workers and students who left the village in the morning and are now unable to return in their vehicles.

Nassar warned that the comprehensive closure was deepening the village’s isolation, further restricting residents’ movement and preventing them from reaching their homes and workplaces.
