JENIN, October 17, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces detained a Palestinian man on Saturday while he was harvesting olives in the town of Jaba', south of Jenin, local sources reported to WAFA.

According to the sources, Israeli forces detained Omar Qasem Fashafsheh, a local resident of Jaba', while he was picking olives near a newly established illegal colonial settlement outpost positioned between the towns of Jaba' and Sanur.

The detention occurred in an area where colonists began earthworks several days ago at the site of the former Sanur military camp, which was vacated by the Israeli army in 2005. The recent colonial activity has heightened concern among local Palestinian residents regarding the safety of their agricultural lands and the ongoing olive harvest season.
