Foreign minister sends identical messages to Arab League chief, OIC Secretary-General over escalations at al-Aqsa mosque

RAMALLAH, Tuesday, September 28, 2021 (WAFA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad al-Malki, sent identical messages to Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Yousef Al-Othaimeen, regarding the recent Israeli escalations at al-Aqsa Mosque, which aim at accelerating its spatial division.

He said that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to deliberately give a religious character to the daily incursions into al-Aqsa Mosque with the aim of implementing its expansionist colonial ambitions in occupied Jerusalem; the latest of which was the flaunting of an Israeli flag during a provocative tour of the holy site yesterday.

The minister urged the Arab League and OIC to promptly move at all levels to clarify and expose the real and serious dangers the al-Aqsa mosque is subjected to, urging all parties to assume their responsibilities to provide protection for Jerusalem, its citizens, and holy sites, including al-Aqsa Mosque in particular.
