Weather: Hot, dry conditions, rise in temperature

RAMALLAH, May 8, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) said that Palestine will be affected by a hot and dry air mass. Consequently, the weather on Thursday will be hot and dry in most areas, with a further rise in temperatures, reaching approximately five degrees Celsius above their annual average. Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, and occasionally active. Sea waves will be light to medium.

In the evening and night hours, the weather will be partly cloudy to clear and moderate in most areas. Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, and the sea will be light to medium.

On Friday, the weather will be hot to very hot and dry in most areas. Temperatures will rise again, reaching approximately seven degrees Celsius above their annual average. Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, and occasionally active. Sea waves will be light to medium.

The PMD said that the weather on Saturday will be hot to very hot and dry in most areas. Temperatures will remain approximately seven degrees Celsius above their annual average. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate in speed, sometimes active. Sea waves will be light to medium.

On Sunday, the weather will be hot to very hot and dry in most areas. Temperatures will rise slightly, remaining approximately eight degrees Celsius above their annual average. Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate in speed, sometimes active. Sea waves will be light to medium.

The PMD warns citizens during the heat wave against direct sunlight for extended periods, especially during peak hours, and against the risk of starting fires in areas with abundant dry grass.
