NEW YORK, May 8, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on Thursday a sharp increase in Israeli colonist violence across the occupied West Bank, documenting 13 recent attacks that left four Palestinians injured, displaced two families, and caused significant damage to property and farmland.
In its daily briefing, OCHA noted that colonist violence is escalating alongside expanding Israeli settlements and the establishment of new outposts. Over the past three weeks, the agency recorded five incidents where Israeli colonists kidnapped or detained Palestinians in the provinces of Nablus, Ramallah, and Hebron.
One particularly alarming case occurred in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, where colonists armed with knives and stones chased local children. Two siblings—a 13-year-old girl and her 3-year-old brother—were abducted and later found tied to a tree within the town.
