GAZA, May 9, 2025 (WAFA) – The death toll arising from the Israeli genocidal aggression on the Gaza Strip surged to 52,787 people, medical sources said on Friday.

They announced that the death toll and the toll of casualties as a result of the Israeli genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip, which started on October 7, 2023, rose to 52,787 and 119,349 respectively.

They added that since Israel unilaterally ended the Gaza ceasefire agreement and resumed its aggression on the Strip on Tuesday, March 18, it has killed 2,678 and injured 7,308 others.

In the last 24 hours, the bodies of 27 slain Palestinians, including a body that was retrieved from the rubble, and 85 casualties were admitted to hospitals in the Strip.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
