JERUSALEM, Thursday, July 8, 2021 (WAFA) – In an unprecedented move, the US embassy in Israel today criticized Israel’s demolition of the house of Palestinian detainee in Israel, Muntaser Shalabi, who is a US citizen, in the West Bank village of Turmous Ayya earlier today.

"As we stated numerous times, the home of an entire family should not be demolished for the actions of one individual," said the embassy in a statement.

While it called on the Palestinians and Israelis to “refrain from unilateral steps that exacerbate tensions and undercut efforts to advance a negotiated two-state solution,” it said “the punitive demolition of Palestinian homes” is one of these steps that exacerbate tensions.

Israel blow up this morning the Shalabi home, displacing his wife and children.
