Malki discusses outcomes of Arab League meeting with Jordanian counterpart

AMMAN, Tuesday, February 09, 2021 (WAFA) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad Al-Malki, discussed with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi ways to follow up on the positive outcomes of the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level held yesterday in Cairo, stressing the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the Arab consensus on the parameters for achieving a just and comprehensive peace.

Both Foreign Ministers stressed during their meeting in the Jordanian capital, Amman, the necessity to build on the current political momentum and regional and international efforts to mobilize the international support necessary to launch serious and effective negotiations to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution; which guarantees the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with international law, resolutions of international legitimacy, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

They stressed the importance of the decision that was unanimously agreed upon by the Arab countries yesterday, which affirmed the unified Arab position on the Palestinian cause, and that effective measures must be taken to put an end to the illegal Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution.
