MOSCOW, February 04, 2021 (WAFA) – The Russian Federation expressed hope today that the next round of intra-Palestinian talks with the mediation of Egypt will bring successful results, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said today.
"We support the steady efforts of our Egyptian partners on recovering Palestinian unity. We hope that the new round of intra-Palestinian talks in Cairo will be successful. It is planned for February 8," Zakharova said, as quoted by Russian News Agency TASS.
Zakharova praised the decision of President Mahmoud Abbas to hold the legislative, presidential and National Council elections. "We think that this step will help overcome the rift among Palestinians in the future and help establish steady Palestinian-Israeli negotiating process."
She confirmed Russia's readiness to help reinforce the unifying trend through organizing another intra-Palestinian meeting in Moscow when the epidemiological situation allows for it.
