RAMALLAH, Sunday, September 27, 2020 (WAFA) – News about the tragic death of six Palestinians in a cesspool in the occupied West Bank made headlines of the three Arabic Palestinian dailies on Sunday.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida, al-Quds and al-Ayyam said that five people were pulled out dead from a cesspool in the village of Deir al-Asal, west of southern the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, and a sixth person was critically injured but later confirmed dead.
Palestinian police spokesman Loai Irzeiqat added that police started a probe into the deadly incident.
The dailies also reported that clashes that erupted between Israeli occupation forces and Palestinian youths in several areas in the West Bank yesterday.
Al-Quds, al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida said that five Palestinian youth were shot and injured on Saturday with rubber-coated steel bullets as Israeli occupation forces suppressed the weekly and peaceful anti-settlement demonstration in the village of Kafr Qaddoum, to the east of Qalqilia.
The papers also said that dozens of Palestinians suffocated Saturday evening from tear gas inhalation during clashes that broke out following an Israeli army raid into al-Thahr area to the south of Hebron in the West Bank.
Reporting the latest coronavirus COVID-19 updates in Palestine, the dailies said that seven people have died yesterday of coronavirus in Palestine, all over 64 years of age, while 290 new cases were confirmed and 521 others recovered, according to Minister of Health Mai Al-Kaila.
