KUWAIT, Friday, September 25, 2020 (WAFA) - Kuwaiti Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, reiterated today his country’s unswerving support for the Palestinian people in their struggle to achieve their inalienable rights, on top of which is their right to an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Sabah told the General Debate of the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly today that “the Palestinian cause still has a central, historical and pivotal place in our Arab and Islamic worlds.” He stressed Kuwait's principled and firm position in supporting the Palestinian people in their struggle to achieve their legitimate rights.
The Kuwaiti prime minister underscored the importance of resuming Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations with the aim of reaching a just and comprehensive peace, based on the terms of reference of the peace process, the resolutions of the international community and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He pointed out serious negotiations should lead to ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the borders before June 4, 1967.
