RAMALLAH, Saturday, September 19, 2020 (WAFA) – The death yesterday of a Palestinian dentist of a heart attack that resulted after Israeli occupation soldiers had thrown a stun grenade at him near a checkpoint in the north of the West Bank was highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies.
Al-Quds, al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida dailies said Nidal Jabareen, 54, was brought to a hospital in Jenin suffering from a severe heart attack and was declared dead on arrival.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that he suffered a heart attack and died after Israeli soldiers threw a stun grenade at him.
The three dailies also highlighted the weekly anti-occupation Palestinian protests in the occupied territories and said a number of people were hurt in the Israeli army crackdown on the protests.
They said Palestinians in Assira al-Qiblya village, in the north of the West Bank, confronted Israeli settlers and prevented them from stealing their lands while the soldiers intervened to protect the Israeli thugs.
In other news, the dailies highlighted the coronavirus impact on Palestine, neighboring countries and the world.
They said eight people have died after contracting the corona disease and 692 new cases were recorded in Palestine in 24 hours.
Al-Ayyam said one death and 124 cases were recorded in East Jerusalem, while Jordan had three deaths and 213 new cases.
Al-Quds said Israel started yesterday a three-week total lockdown in an effort to control the disease following an upsurge in the number of cases and deaths.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida highlighted on its front page the anti-normalization with Israel protests and condemnation in the normalization countries – Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates - and around the world.
Al-Ayyam said a prisoners' exchange deal between Hamas and Israel seems to be in the making following intermediation by Egypt.
