Gunmen kill three Palestinians northeast of Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, Thursday, September 17, 2020 (WAFA) – Unidentified gunmen Thursday afternoon opened fire on a Palestinian vehicle, northeast of Bethlehem, killing three inside, according to security sources.

The sources confirmed that four unidentified gunmen driving an illegally-licensed vehicle intercepted and opened fire on another vehicle travelling on Wadi al-Nar Road instantly killing a young man and two young women.

Police spokesman Loai Irzeiqat announced in a press statement that the Police Operations Section in Bethlehem received a signal about unidentified gunmen opening fire on a vehicle en route from Bethlehem to the northern West Bank, just meters away from the Israeli military checkpoint of Container, killing the three young passengers.

He confirmed that police officers and prosecutors arrived at the scene, and opened an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the crime.

The victims, he added, were brought to Beit Jala Government Hospital. The gunmen fled the scene.
