RAMALLAH, Sunday, September 13, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is relatively hot in mountainous areas and hot to very hot in the rest of the country, with a drop in temperature which yet remains above the seasonal average by 2°C, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are northwesterly to westerly and light to moderate. Sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 19°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 30°C and a low of 18°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 39°C and a low of 27°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 22°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A further drop in temperature by one degree is expected on Monday.
However, the heatwave is expected to return on Tuesday through Wednesday with a rise in temperature by 5°C, said the PMD.
People are warned against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight especially during the peak hours of the day between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, as well as against setting fire to dry grass.
