RAMALLAH, Friday, September 11, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is hot to very hot with a slight relief in the heat wave affecting the region and with a slight drop in temperature, which remains above the seasonal average by 5°C, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Dry and unseasonably hot conditions are expected in daytime and mild to relatively hot conditions in nighttime. Winds are northwesterly to westerly and light to moderate, while sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 22°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 32°C and a low of 21°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 41°C and a low of 29°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
No change in temperature or weather conditions is expected for Saturday.
Temperature on Sunday is set to further drop by 1°C, causing a relief in the heat stress, mainly in mountainous districts.
A further drop in temperature and heat wave is expected on Monday.
PMD warns people against direct exposure to the sun for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as well as against setting fire to dry grassy areas.
