RAMALLAH, Monday, September 07, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is extremely hot and dry as the heatwave that has hit Palestine since last week continues today with temperature remaining 8°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are light to moderate, northwesterly to southeasterly, and sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 36°C and a low of 24°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 35°C and a low of 23°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 44°C and a low of 31°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 25°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A drop in temperature is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, yet temperature remains 5°C above the average.
However, a rise in temperature is expected on Thursday to become 7°C above the annual average, said the PMD, which warned people against direct exposure to the sun for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as well as against setting fire to dry grass areas.
