RAMALLAH, Sunday, September 6, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is extremely hot and dry as the heatwave that has hit Palestine since last week continues today, yet with a slight drop in temperature remaining 9°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are light to moderate, northwesterly to northeasterly, and sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 38°C and a low of 23°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 37°C and a low of 22°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 45°C and a low of 31°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 35°C and a low of 25°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
No change in temperature or weather conditions is expected for Monday.
However, another drop in temperature is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, yet temperature remains 5 to 6°C above the average, said the PMD.
People are warned against direct exposure to the sun for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as well as against setting fire to dry grass areas.
