A further rise is expected in temperature which approaches 9-10°C on Friday, intensifying the already heavy heat stress and paving the way to extremely hot and dry conditions.

PMD warns people against direct exposure to the sun for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as well as against setting fire to dry grassy areas.
