RAMALLAH, Tuesday, August 25, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is mainly clear and relatively hot in mountainous districts and hot to very hot in other districts in daytime with steady temperature which remains °C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Weather tonight is partly cloudy to clear and mild in mountainous districts, and relatively hot to hot in other districts. Light to moderate westerly to northwesterly wind blows. Sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 19°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 30°C and a low of 18°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 41°C and a low of 26°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 23°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Wednesday’s temperature is set to slightly drop, paving the way to partly cloudy to clear and mild conditions in mountainous districts and relatively hot to hot conditions in other districts in daytime. Mild conditions in mountainous districts, and relatively hot to hot conditions in other districts are expected in nighttime.
Thursday’s temperature is set to further slightly drop and become seasonal, causing a slight relief in the heat stress.
Friday’s temperature is set to significantly rise and approach 3°C above the seasonal average, causing a intensification in the heat stress.
PMD warns people against direct exposure to sunlight for long period, particularly from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as well as against setting fire to dry grassy areas.
