Construction Cost Index down slightly in July - PCBS

RAMALLAH, Monday, August 24, 2020 (WAFA) - The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings decreased by 0.01% in the West Bank during July 2020 compared with June, mainly due to decrease in rental of equipment by 0.44%, while the prices of raw materials slightly increased by 0.06%, as labor costs and wages remained stable, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

CCI for non-residential buildings also decreased by 0.02% in the West Bank during July compared with June due to decrease in rental of equipment by 0.44%, while the prices of raw materials slightly increased by 0.05% as labor costs and wages remained stable.

CCI for skeleton buildings also decreased by 0.01% in the West Bank during July compared with June due to decrease in rental of equipment by 0.44%, while the prices of raw materials slightly increased by 0.04% as labor costs and wages remained stable.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) decreased by 0.25% in the West Bank during July compared with June due to decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.55%, while operating costs of equipment and maintenance increased by 2.33%, and rental of equipment increased by 0.20%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) decreased by 0.14% in the West Bank during July compared with June, Water Networks Cost Index decreased by 0.19%, and Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.01%, said the PCBS.

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) also decreased by 0.08%.
