RAMALLAH, Thursday, August 20, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine late Wednesday recorded four new coronavirus fatalities, raising the total death toll in the occupied territories to 131.
The Health Ministry announced that four Palestinians, aged 39, 68, 78 and 80, from Hebron district died due to the highly contagious virus.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 23,442.
Out of the 23,442 cases, 17,512 are recorded in the West Bank, 109 in the Gaza Strip and 5,821 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 14,321, accounting for 61 percent of the total cases since the pandemic outbreak, and the death toll reached 131, accounting for 0.5 percent of the total cases.
This leaves a total of 8,990 active cases, accounting for 38.3 percent of the total cases.
