RAMALLAH, Friday, August 14, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is partly cloudy and relatively hot in mountainous districts and hot to very hot in other districts in daytime with a slight rise in temperature which approaches 2°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Weather tonight is partly cloudy and mild in mountainous districts and warm in other districts. Light to moderate westerly to northwesterly wind blows with occasional gusts. Sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 21°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 32°C and a low of 20°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 43°C and a low of 27°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
An additional slight rise in temperature is expected on Saturday, paving the way to an increase in the heat stress.
Sunday’s temperature is set to further rise and approach 4°C above the seasonal average, paving the way to a more extreme heat stress.
Monday’s temperature is set to slightly drop, yet remains unseasonably high. Weather in daytime is relatively hot in mountainous districts and hot to very hot in other districts. In nighttime, mild conditions are set to prevail in mountainous districts and warm conditions in other districts.
PMD warns people against direct exposure to sunlight for long hours, particularly from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dray grassy areas.
