RAMALLAH, Friday, August 7, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is hot in mountainous districts and very hot in other districts in daytime with a rise in temperature which approaches 3°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Partially cloudy to clear and relatively hot conditions are expected in mountainous districts and hot conditions in other districts in nighttime. Light to moderate westerly to northwesterly wind blows with occasional gusts. Sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 22°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 31°C and a low of 21°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 41°C and a low of 28°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 25°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Saturday’s temperature is set to slightly drop with partially cloudy to clear and relatively hot conditions in most districts and very hot conditions in the Jordan Valley in daytime. Mild conditions are expected in nighttime, particularly in mountainous districts.
Sunday’s temperature is set to further drop and become seasonal, paving the way to a relief in the heat stress.
No significant change is expected in the weather conditions on Monday.
PMD warns people against direct exposure to sunlight for long periods, particularly from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
