RAMALLAH, Sunday, July 26, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is mainly clear and very hot in Palestine with a significant rise in temperature, which approaches 7°C above the seasonal average, as an extraordinarily hot front affects the region, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are light to moderate and occasionally active, northwesterly to northeasterly. Sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 35°C and a low of 24°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 34°C and a low of 23°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 43°C and a low of 30°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 34°C and a low of 25°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Temperature, however, drops on Monday and Tuesday by two degrees to become around 5°C above the average, while weather remains dry and very hot.
Similar weather conditions are expected for Wednesday yet with a slight rise in temperature.
People are warned against direct exposure to the sunlight for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dry grass areas.
