RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 23, 2020 (WAFA) – The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) called today upon the international community to set practical mechanisms to pressure the Israeli occupation to stop its aggression and crimes against our people, as well as to impose sanctions on and boycott it.
During its meeting today in Ramallah, the PLO Executive Committee called upon the International Criminal Court to accelerate the mechanisms of its work in order to prosecute the Israeli occupation for its disregard of the international laws and legitimacy.
The PLO Executive Committee reiterated its rejection of the continuous Israeli attempts to impose fait accompli on the ground, through colonial settlement construction and expansion, land grab and settler violence.
It appreciated the international positions rejecting the Israeli occupation's annexation plan, which comes within the framework of the US-led Deal of the Century, which violates the resolutions of the international community and international law.
The Executive Committee expressed its rejection of any prejudice to the rights of the Palestinian people to end the occupation, the right of refugees to return according to UNSC Resolution 194, the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with international resolutions.
It also called for the release of the Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli detention during the current hard times posed by the COVID-19 outbreak in the prisons and the real dangers facing the prisoners.
The PLO Executive Committee also reiterated its committment to the reolution of the Palestinian leadership on May 19 on terminating all the agreements signed with Israel and ending all forms of coordination with the Israeli occupation authorities.
