RAMALLAH, June 11, 2025 (WAFA) – Hussein Al-Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine and Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), met on Wednesday with outgoing Cypriot Ambassador Dimitris Assos for a farewell meeting marking the end of his diplomatic mission.

During the meeting, Al-Sheikh praised the strong bilateral relations between Palestine and Cyprus and expressed deep appreciation for Cyprus’s consistent support of Palestinian rights at international forums.

The two officials also discussed the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, with Al-Sheikh emphasizing the urgent need to halt what he described as an ongoing campaign of genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

He further stressed the importance of ensuring immediate humanitarian relief to the besieged enclave, describing it as an absolute priority amid worsening conditions.
