JERUSALEM, September 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today detained Palestinian citizen Khaled Hammad while he was passing through the Qalandia checkpoint, north of occupied Jerusalem, on his way to Al-Makassed Hospital to receive chemotherapy for cancer.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces stopped and detained Hammad at the Qalandia checkpoint, despite the fact that he was en route to the hospital for medical treatment.

Palestinian patients, particularly those requiring treatment at hospitals in Jerusalem, are subjected to restrictions and procedures at Israeli military checkpoints, hindering their ability to reach medical facilities for their scheduled appointments.
