RAMALLAH, September 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities have issued a new military order targeting the removal of wild vegetation and the uprooting of olive and other trees from approximately 99.79 dunams of land belonging to the village of Deir Nizam, northwest of Ramallah.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission stated that Military Order No. 103/26 targets Basins 3 and 4 in the "Wadi al-Muhata" site. It mandates the removal of wild vegetation and the uprooting of olive trees located within the designated area.

Earlier this morning, the Commission revealed that Israeli occupation authorities had issued three other military orders targeting the removal of wild vegetation and the uprooting of olive and other trees from approximately 339 dunams of privately owned land in the town of Qabatiya, the city of Jenin, and the town of Beit Rima (northwest of Ramallah).

With the addition of the new order in Deir Nizam, the occupation authorities have issued a total of four military orders since this morning, targeting the removal of trees and vegetation cover from a combined area of ​​438.808 dunams across the Jenin and Ramallah & Al-Bireh governorates.

The Commission emphasized that the gravity of these orders lies not only in the size of the targeted areas but also in the nature of the measures authorized. These measures allow for rapid physical alteration of the land—including the removal of vegetation and trees—under security pretexts and within short timeframes that limit landowners' ability to file objections before the damage occurs.

Data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission indicates a marked escalation in tree-removal orders during 2026; since the beginning of the year, occupation authorities have issued 51 orders targeting approximately 2,093 dunams. This figure surpasses—prior to the year's end—the total tally for 2025, which saw 47 orders targeting 1,613 dunams.

This comparison reveals a roughly 30% increase in the area of ​​targeted land—an addition of 480 dunams—signaling an accelerating use of orders to remove trees and vegetation as a tool for imposing extensive interventions on Palestinian land.
