NEW YORK, July 4, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations has expressed deep concern over the repeated violations of the UN Charter and international law by some of its member states, particularly in relation to the ongoing Israeli military aggression on Gaza and other conflict zones.
According to a statement from UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric, these breaches undermine the principles that countries themselves have committed to uphold. He emphasized the importance of states adhering to their international obligations and honoring the agreements they have ratified.
Addressing global perceptions, especially in the Middle East, Dujarric acknowledged growing sentiment that the United Nations has failed to adequately protect the Palestinian population.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Dujarric noted that the UN Secretary-General and humanitarian staff who remain on the ground in Gaza continue to work under extreme conditions. Their efforts are focused on safeguarding civilians and ensuring their survival through the distribution of the limited resources still available.
