Colonists flood Palestinian farmlands with sewage, attempt to steal livestock in Masafer Yatta

HEBRON, July 3, 2025 (WAFA) –  Israeli colonists on Thursday flooded Palestinian farmlands in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, with sewage water and attempted to steal livestock from local shepherds, according to local activist Osama Makhamreh.

Makhamreh told WAFA that colonists from the illegal Karmei’el colony  deliberately released wastewater over agricultural lands in the village of Khirbet Umm al-Khair, causing environmental damage and threatening the livelihood of farmers.

He added that colonists also attempted  to steal sheep from livestock pens in Khirbet al-Fakhit, another community in Masafer Yatta.

In addition, groups of colonists  conducted provocative tours near Palestinian homes in the Shaab al-Batm area, in what activists say are attempts to pressure residents into forcibly leaving their lands to clear the way for further colony expansion.
