RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 23, 2020 (WAFA) - The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings and for non-residential buildings slightly increased in June compared to May and decreased for skeleton buildings, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
It said CCI for residential buildings increased by 0.04% in the West Bank during June compared with May due to an increase of labor costs and wages by 0.64%, and rental of equipment by 0.05%, while the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.34%.
CCI for non-residential buildings also increased by 0.04% due to an increase in labor costs and wages by 0.64%, and rental of equipment slightly by 0.06%, while the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.31%.
However, CCI for skeleton buildings decreased by 0.15% in the West Bank during June compared with May due to decrease in the prices of raw materials 0.52%, while labor costs and wages increased by 0.47%, and rental of equipment slightly increased by 0.05%.
The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) decreased by 0.79% due to a decrease in labor costs and wages by 1.54%, rental of equipment by 0.99%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.85%, while operating costs of equipment and maintenance increased by 3.61%.
The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) decreased by 0.18% in the West Bank during June compared with May, Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.47%, and Water Networks Cost Index decreased by 0.06%, said the PCBS.
The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) also decreased by 0.17% in the West Bank during June compared with May.
