RAMALLAH, Sunday, July 19, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is clear and hot to very hot in most areas with a slight rise in temperature, to become 5°C above the annual average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate and occasionally active. Sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 34°C and a low of 22°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 33°C and a low of 21°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 42°C and a low of 29°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 35°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Temperature drops slightly on Monday but remains 4°C above the average and again on Tuesday, yet remains 3°C above the average, said the PMD.
Temperature drops again on Wednesday setting back to just 2°C above the seasonal average.
People are warned against direct exposure to sunlight for a long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, during the heat wave. They are also warned against setting fire to dry grass.
