Weather forecast: Relatively hot to hot conditions

RAMALLAH, Friday, July 17, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is partly cloudy to clear and relatively hot in mountainous districts and hot to very hot in other districts with a slight drop in temperature which remains slightly unseasonably high, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Weather tonight is mainly clear and mild in mountainous districts and relatively hot in other districts. Light to moderate westerly to northwesterly wind blows with occasional gusts. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 20°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 28°C and a low of 19°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 38°C and a low of 27°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 22°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Saturday’s temperature is set to rise and approach 3°C above the seasonal average, paving the way to mainly clear and relatively hot conditions in mountainous districts and hot to very hot conditions in other districts, particularly the Jordan Valley.

Sunday’s temperature is set to further rise and approach 5°C above the seasonal average, causing the heat stress to intensify.

No significant change is expected in temperature on Monday with clear and hot conditions in mountainous districts and very hot conditions in other districts.

PMD warns people against direct exposure to the sunlight for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
