RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 16, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine Thursday afternoon confirmed a new novel coronavirus fatality, raising the death toll in the occupied territories since the pandemic spread to 50.
The Health Ministry announced that an 89-year-old man died due to the highly contagious virus in Hebron district, the current Palestinian epicenter of the pandemic.
Earlier today, the ministry confirmed two corona-related fatalities and 463 new cases in the occupied territories in the last 24 hours.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 8,616.
Out of the 8,616 cases, 7,340 are recorded in the West Bank, 72 in the Gaza Strip and 1, 204 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 1,487, including 174 in East Jerusalem, leaving a total of 7,079 active cases.
