NEW YORK, September23, 2010, (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbass held several meetings with a number of world leaders and officials in NEW YORK.
These meeting came on the margin of the 65th session of the united nation where e is scheduled to deliver a speech on September 25.
The president discussed with Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, the latest developments in the peace process and the situation in the region, in the light of the resumption of direct negotiations.
The President briefed his majesty, who heads the Jerusalem Committee of the organization Islamic Conference, on the latest Israeli judiaization of East Jerusalem, specially the Wednesday’s killing of Samer Sarhan from Silwan.
The President also met with: The Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Jonas Gahr Stoere, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Al-Sheik Abdallah Bin Zayed Al-Nihyan, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Amr Mussa, Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs Lenny Aspersyn, the American envoy to the peace process, Senator George Mitchell, President of Costa Rica Laura Chinchilla, he Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Chabndl , Japan’s envoy to the peace process Uotoka Amora, also the Foreign Ministers Of France and Spain, Bernard Kouchner, and Miguel Angel Moratinos, with the envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Terje Roed-Larsen.
During the meetings they discussed the developments of peace process in the light of the resumption direct negotiations, as well as bilateral relations of these counties and ways of strengthening them.
