RAMALLAH, May 18, 2009 (WAFA) - The Palestinian Presidency Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rdeina, said, Monday, that Israel's decision to construct a new Jewish colony in the Jordan Valley, north of the West Bank, is a clear proof of the Israeli government's persistence to go ahead with its colonization policies.

Abu Rdeina added that the endorsement of building this colony, which comes on the eve of US President Barack Obama's meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is seen as a challenge to the American Administration, and a clear denial of a two-state solution as well as the peace process.

He affirmed that this provocative decision requires an active American response, urging the US Administration to take an active stance to pressure Netanyahu to stop his colonization policies meant to undermine the peace process.
