MONTEVIDEO, April 14, 2026 (WAFA) – The Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Uruguay, Nadia Qaraqra, participated in the flag-raising ceremony of the State of Palestine at the Flag Path in Florida, capital of the Florida Department, Uruguay, marking the 10th anniversary of the twinning agreement with the municipalities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh.

During the ceremony, Florida Department Mayor Carlos Enciso praised the bilateral relations between the two countries, based on mutual cooperation.

For her part, Qaraqra stressed the importance of relations between Palestine and Uruguay, which strengthen cooperation and friendship between the two peoples.

She reviewed the latest political and field developments in the occupied Palestinian Territory and the suffering of the Palestinian people under the continued Israeli occupation of their land, noting the strength of the historic relations between the two countries.

Both sides also discussed prospects for further bilateral cooperation.
