BETHLEHEM, April 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Three Palestinians on Tuesday sustained injuries in a colonist attack to the east of Tuquʿ town, southeast of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, according to a local source.
Taysir Abu Mufreh, the town mayor, said that Israeli colonists assaulted defenseless civilians in the al-Mattal area, spewing pepper spray in their faces and attempting to steal their sheep.
The casualties were rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
