Haaretz: Netanyahu to Demand Obama New “Road Map”

HAIFA, May 17, 2009 (WAFA)- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived, today, in Washington to meet with President Barack Obama, tomorrow.

Haaretz Israeli Daily said that despite differences between the Israeli government and the American Administration, Netanyahu would propose the formation of joint teams to work on n “new road map” in the Palestinian track.

Haaretz added that Netanyahu’s His proposal for a new road map marks a bid to soften edgy relations with Washington surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Netanyahu intends to emphasize his intention to resume the peace talks with the Palestinians soon, but with the participation of the moderate Arab states, Haaretz stated.

This tendency is meant to evade the Arab Peace initiative, which calls for trading a full Israeli withdrawal from Arab and Palestinian territories, and establishing a two-state solution, for comprehensive peace with Arab states.
