Sultanov Reaffirms Russian Support for Palestnian State

RAMALLAH, April 19, 2009 (WAFA)- Russian Foreign Minister Alexander Sultanov reaffirmed, Saturday, Russia's support for the establishment of a Palestinian state as a basis for resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

 

Sultanov had met, during his visit to The Palestinian Territory, with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, who affirmed the necessity that Israel stops construction of Jewish colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

 

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had visited Moscow, earlier this month, and held talks with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who promised that Russia would continue to work towards the establishment of a Palestinian state and to get the Mideast peace process back on track.
