BRUSSLES, February 10, 2009 (WAFA)- The Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament (EP) authorized a delegation of Members of the European Parliament (MEP) visiting the Occupied Palestinian Territory -Gaza and West Bank from February 10-14, a press release from the office of the EP Vice President Luisa Morgantini said.

The delegation chaired by MEP Kyriacos Triantaphyllides, Chairman of the EP Delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council, is composed by EP VP Luisa Morgantini, MEP Jill Evans, MEP Chris Davies, MEP Frieda Brepoels, EP Proinsias De Rossa.

The European Parliamentarians will visit the Gaza Strip in solidarity with the civil population there and will have meetings with representatives of the United Nations, of the Palestinian Legislative Council and of different NGOs, in order to collect information and data concerning the destructions perpetrated by the Israeli army and relating to the real life-conditions of Palestinians in the Strip.   

In Ramallah the delegation will have meetings with the Palestinian National Authority and with representatives of humanitarian organizations.
