JAKARTA, July 17, 2008, (WAFA)-Vietnam will continue its annual aid of US$120,000 to the State of Palestine, a Vietnamese representative for the Ministerial Conference on Capacity Building for Palestine said.
The conference took place in Indonesia within the framework of the New Asian-African Strategic Partnership (NAASP) from July 14-15.
Participants discussed 90 projects hoped to benefit the Palestinian people while calling for the implementation of a roadmap for peace in the Middle East .
Deputy Foreign Minister Dao Viet Trung pledged that Vietnam will actively take part in projects tailored for Palestine , noted an initial offer of scholarships for seven Palestinian students to travel to Vietnam and study the language.
Addressing the conference – which brought together 220 senior officials from 55 Asian and African countries, and international organizations from around the world – Trung highlighted the Palestinian administration’s endeavors in building and developing its state and in seeking a peaceful solution to issues in the Middle East.
He reiterated Vietnam ’s unrelenting support for the Palestinian people’s struggle for justice, and regional and international efforts to speed up the Middle East peace process to find a comprehensive, equal and sustainable solution to the conflict.
