GENEVA, May 21, 2007, (WAFA)-Minister of Health, Dr. Radwan Akhras warned on Monday of the dangerous deteriorated health condition in the Palestinian Territory.

Al-Akhras said over a phone call from Geneva, where he is participating in the 60th Meeting of the World Health Organization, that the health situation in the Palestinian territory is dangerous and threatened by the growing number of wounded reaching the hospitals and health centers.

"This dangerous condition doubles the burden on the capacity of hospitals and its therapeutic and medicinal potentialities," he said.

He added that the bodies of the victims which arrived to hospitals were burnt and charred bodies and it is difficult to identify their identities.

Al-Akhras called on the international community, the United Nations , human rights associations and the International Committee of the Red Cross to shoulder their responsibilities towards what is happening in Palestine against the unarmed Palestinian people, calling for exercising pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop the brutal aggression against innocent and defenseless citizens.
