Arab Journalists Union Denounces Continued Israeli Aggression against Palestinian People
CAIRO, May 17, 2007, (WAFA)-The Arab Journalists Union condemned the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and besieging their official and popular institutions.
In a speech on Thursday in Cairo during the meeting of the Union General Secretariat, Head Union, Ibrahim Nafie urged the international community to seize the opportunity of the current Arab efforts to move and marketing the Arab Peace Initiative to achieve a just political settlement to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Nafie added that the Arab Summit that was held recently in Riyadh opened a new and authentic chapter to unify efforts and Palestinian ranks and to search for radical solutions and a comprehensive solution to this conflict.
The conference will discuss over two days a number of issues relating to freedom of the press and Arab political issues and their impact on profession of journalism.
