FM Abu Amr Meets his Jordanian Counterpart in Amman
AMMAN, May 12, 2007 (WAFA) - Foreign Minister Ziad Abu Amr met Saturday in Amman with his Jordanian counterpart Abdul Elah al-Khatib and discussed with him cooperation relations and ways of supporting the Middle East peace process.
The two Ministers discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian arena and scopes of achieving progress in the hindered negotiations with the Israeli side.
Abu Amr expressed thanks and appreciation for efforts exerted by King Abdullah II of Jordan to support the Palestinian people on the different international platforms.
for his part, al-Khatib stressed that the Palestinian cause was the central issue and the importance to exert Arab and international efforts to revive the peace process by going back to the negotiations table and achieving the just and comprehensive peace, Petra said.
He also emphasized the importance on ending the suffering of Palestinians, stressing Jordan's support for the Palestinian National Authority in its efforts to build its national institutions.
